3rd Annual Earth Day Festival showcases chart toppers and upcoming talent
WASHINGTON – Broccoli City announced today that Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter and actress, Erykah Badu – aka DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown – is headlining this year’s Broccoli City Festival (BC Fest) on Saturday, April 25th at Gateway Pavilion DC.
Included in this year’s highly anticipated line-up are the following national recording artists:
Joey Bada$$ – elite hip-hop artist; 2015 debut reached number one rap and indie album
Tink – songwriter, singer and rapper; new protégé of super producer Timbaland
Kaytrandada – renowned electronic musician, producer and DJ; featured on 2015 Coachella and Governors Ball
Kali Uchis – singer, songwriter and visionary director; named NPR’s favorite Latino artist of 2014
Debuting in 2013, the annual Earth Day celebration unites thousands of diverse BC Festival-goers for a day of art, food, culture, yoga, and a wide range of musical performances. With last year’s attendance eclipsing 6,000, this year's turnout is expected to be greater.
“We’re very excited about this year’s festival and look forward to commemorating the 45th anniversary of Earth Day with one of the most influential artist of our generation headlining,” said Broccoli City co-founder Brandon McEachern. “Every year our goal is to deliver BC Festival-goers with a line-up that’s unique to the BC Fest experience.”
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.bcfestival.com, with VIP options available. The festival will commence from noon to 9 p.m., rain or shine – many more artists to be announced.
