During our recent trip to New York, we connected with numerous brands and people. Upon our arrival at PROJECT, I managed to fall behind and entered the show after everyone else. Luckily the guys had only reached the first table. Cruyff, was the name of the brand and their footwear which came in the form of sneakers, had a distinctly European silhouette to them. I thought for a moment to the days of me being a wee little lad trying to play futbol, and remembered the legendary status behind the name. To the contemporary football player or fan who is knowledgable abut the history of the game, the name Johan Cruyff is as familiar as the World Cup. His name given to a simple-turn manuever that is taught to youngsters aspiring to footballers. With all this in mind, it was easy to recollect the origins of the brand name and the brand reps were so excited, they gave me this brandbook. After my talks with Ivan, my contact from the company, reminscing about our younger years playing soccer, discussing how the disclipine and camaraderie helped in business, and the meanings behind our brands, it was apparent that this was beginnings of a beautiful relationship. Attending these tradeshows, one can accumulate literature like upcoming lookbooks and even a few trinkets but its not often you specialized media like brandbooks, so this book is means alot to me, I can't wait to see what they have next.
