If someone told you that Kacy Hill was a household name, you would not have known it. While true that the fiery haired songstress from Phoenix, Arizona is a new sound to everyone’s ears, only emerging sonically last year with her ambitious single Experience, she has literally been in everyone’s living room for years as a model for American Apparel, as the face of the company. Not finding her true calling in the modeling world, she took a chance gig as a dancer on Kanye West’s Yeezy tours, letting the G.O.O.D Music king listen to her music and immediately being signed thereafter. This led to a guest appearance on Travi$ Scott’s debut album, Rodeo, on the track 90210. Not bad for someone only a few years removed from high school.
Now, Kacy has released her first project under the G.O.O.D Music banner, christened the Bloo EP. The first single from this project, Foreign Fields, was released in late August and has been making the rounds with over a million streams already. The remix, produced by Yung Gud, builds on the minimalist approach that Kacy takes to her music. The gradual build found in the original is accompanied by grand synths and tribal like drums as Kacy’s voice is transformed to an almost siren like quality. The second single, Arm's Length, a more upbeat power song, shows that she's more than a one trick pony and can delve into more concrete subject matter. Listen for yourself and check the Bloo Ep out today on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music and Spotify.
