Time for a little Good News/Bad News scenario. Since it’s Monday and all, why don’t we start with the good news? So the Good: we’re back with some new music straight out of Miami that takes the experimental atmosphere of darkness, drugs and low-fi infidelity of The Weeknd’s House of Balloons and the introspective, self-destructive lyricism of Mr. Rager and smashes the two against a wall. The results? A sinister sound that’s high-art rap without the pretension that usually follows a label like that. "IDK" is angst-ridden, powerful and deep at its highest and at its lowest, a haunting mix of industrial electronica that leaves too soon just when the track is getting its footing. A sound like this has not been heard since Abel first stepped on the scene in all his mystique and shadow.
Time for the Bad News now. The Bad… I’m still horrible at making puns. Luckily, I am a music writer and not a comic. Double lucky, we have TWO tracks from Miami’s Good News Bad News trio, "IDK" and "Grey Hairs". Tell us what you think of both tracks and visit GNBN Soundcloud and YouTube page.
