PentHouse Music has done it again, as Skizzy Mars releases his newest EP, The Red Balloon Project.
Drawing inspiration from the 1956 French Film of the same name, Skizzy uses 7 tracks to paint the picture of life growing up in NYC. From his high school days of partying with rich prep schoolers to struggling relationships with family and girls in the fast life of a rising musician, Skiz is able to address even his insecurities in a braggadocio way that has New York rapper written all over it.
The entire project was produced by PentHouse producer Michael Keenan, with whom Mars shares an almost Pete Rock & CL Smooth chemistry with, as the former's kicks blends with the latter's melodies in such an unusual and beautiful way.
Keenan also had help on the boards from Charlie Puth, Jake Oh, Christoph Andersson and Charlie Brand.
The EP also includes guest features from Phoebe Ryan, Marc E Bassy, Quest, Devon Baldwin, G-Eazy and Olivver.
Artwork for TRBP was done by Garrett.net.
You can cop the EP on iTunes and be sure to look out for more from Skizzy Mars and the rest of the PentHouse in the near future.
